Hi! We’re Kenon and Savanna – a husband and wife travel team! The idea for this blog was kindled by our love for traveling. We thrive on getting out and about. Whether it is a short hike in the Wasatch, a day trip to Park City Mountain Resort, or a sixteen-hour roundtrip drive to camp with friends for the weekend we just want to go. We mix this all up with our jobs as teachers, time with friends, and growing as a couple. We wanted a place to teach people how to replicate, at least a little, the adventures we have found.
Why the name “Hand-Me-Down Experience”?
Steven Wright says, “Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.” We have known this to be true in so many of our excursions but it doesn’t always have to be. With the right research and mentors, our trips have become much more smooth. A lot of the lessons learned from planning and traveling have translated into our life at home, too.
Merriam Webster defines hand-me-down as anything “put in use by one person or group after being used by… another.” This is not a blog of lavish travel destinations, unattainable life practices, or oversimplified quick fixes. This is a blog put together by real experience and reflection. Our goal is that anyone can find a useful life tip as they thrift through these stories.
We want to get to know you, too! Comment and ask questions as you read to keep the conversation going.
